Two Common Reverse Osmosis System Problem and Their Solution

When it comes to using reverse osmosis filtration systems to clean out your household water; the deal is great! But like any other product, this structure also comes with its flaws, and we have covered some central issues that most users encounter. The first and fundamental rule we would want to establish that fixes the osmosis filter problems quickly and do not let them fester: This is a complex apparatus and letting it stay broken will lead to further problems. 

1. Noise in the Faucet

The drain line will make the noise in the beginning after you have installed a reverse osmosis apparatus. That is because the air is being pushed out of the system but we are talking about a little noise early on. If the noise persists for 24 hours or more; make sure that the tubing is set in the correct form. Make sure that the piping is not clogged or blocked in any way. Make sure that the system does not have any gaps. That is the most common reason for the consistent noise. 

2. Water Blockade

If you have installed a reverse osmosis filter apparatus a few years back, there is a chance that the filter will suddenly stop pushing out water. That happens for one of two reasons;

1. Either the volume of water is low from the tap water, or

2. The water pressure is low from the filter. (so, knowing much pressure does reverse osmosis require is beneficial)

The problem is usually in the storage tank. The storage tank maintains its pressure through an air bladder. If air bladder malfunctions, the tank will not be able to take in more water. So take a look into the air bladder when water does not get into the storage tank properly. A full tank weighs twenty pounds while an empty one weighs two pounds. If the tank feels full then the water is not going in; here is what you need to do.

Fixing It!

You need to shut down the cold water supply to the system and close the storage tank valve. Now take the tank outside and open the valve again. You will drain out all the water in the tank. Make sure that all the trickling water is out before the next step! Take a compressor or bicycle pump to get out all the residual water. Measure the pressure inside the tank with a pressure gauge. You would ask: how much pressure does reverse osmosis require? The ideal pressure is between 6psi and 8psi. If the pressure is below that, then the tank needs to be pressurized again. Now you can connect the storage tank back to the osmosis filter system.

If the pressure falls again, then the entire tank is having trouble due to the weak air bladder. You will need to get the whole reverse osmosis water storage tank replaced.
